How to arrive

Cottbus, Brandenburg, can be reached by road, rail and air transport from the surrounding German cities Berlin, Dresden and Leipzig, all with their own airports.


Travelling by plane

Berlin-Schönefeld Airport (SXF)
Berlin-Schönefeld Airport is south of Berlin and is served by many low-cost airlines. From the airport, the train station “Berlin Schönefeld” can be reached within 10 min by foot. From there, the train can be taken to Cottbus every hour. (travel time around 1.5 h).

Berlin-Tegel Airport (TXL)
Berlin-Tegel Airport is located north of Berlin and is the third-largest airport in Germany. From the airport, the TXL express bus can be taken every 10 minutes directly to the Berlin central train station (Berlin Hauptbahnhof), from where a train can be taken directly to Cottbus every hour (travel time around 2 h).

Dresden International Airport (DRS)
Dresden International Airport is 9 km away from Dresden. From the airport, you can take the S-Bahn to Dresden central station from where a train can be taken directly to Cottbus every 2 hours (travel time around 2.5 h).

At all three airports, rental cars are available from Avis, Europcar, and Sixt, which can be handed over in Cottbus.


Travelling by train

Cottbus has fast and direct train connections from Berlin, Dresden, and Leipzig. The arrival and departure times can be found in the current timetable of Deutsche Bahn.

Cottbus is located directly on the A15 highway and is therefore easily accessible by road. Arrival is fastest via highway A13 and A15, exit Cottbus-West towards downtown (Zentrum).
